Silid Aralan trains volunteers from Cagayan de Oro City in partnership with Smart Communications [blog]

Silid Aralan, Inc (SAI), in coordination with SMART Telecommunications, trained 48 principals, teachers, students and SMART employees from Cagayan de Oro from July 3 to July 5 this year in preparation for the local implementation of SAI’s Community Mentoring Program.   This program aims to combine the forces of parents, teachers, local governments, local businesses to push forth the empowering of students of Cagayan de Oro.  Mr. Arcie G. Mallari, president-CEO of SAI, together with Russell Angeles and Yves Barbasina, both top facilitators of SAI, conducted the said training in Pearlmont Inn.  The participants were composed of principals and teachers of Balulang Elementary School, Cugman Elementary School, Corrales Elementary School, Niña Maria Learning Center, Upper Carmen Elementary School and Bugo Elementary School; students of Xavier University of Cagayan de Oro; and employees of SMART CDO. Silid Aralan, Inc. (SAI) in partnership with the Office for Social Concern and Involvement (OSCI)-Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) conducted a three-day training for 28 Ateneo students who would be tutoring 100 selected high school students in San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal. The training took place on July 5, 12 and 19, 2008, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Ateneo de Manila University. 

The training aimed to motivate and prepare the Ateneans for their Saturday tutorial sessions beginning July 26, 2008, in San Jose.  Also, it intended to escalate their learning by introducing the Silid Aralan Learning Technology (SALT©) and other learning methodologies, which they will use for their high school tutees.

SAI formally opens Learning Year 2008-2009 [blog]

June 17, 2008 marked the opening of Learning Year 2008-2009 of SIlid Aralan, Inc. SAI is now on its 2nd year of operations and now benefiting 60 pupils from Kasiglahan Village Elementary School, 7 high school students (former SA kids who graduated from elementary) from Pamantasan ng Montalban and 100 more high school students from different public schools within Rodriguez (Montalban), Rizal who will benefit from the partnership of SAI with Ateneo de Manila University Office for Social Concern and Involvement (OSCI).SAI kids gazed with excitement as they enter their rooms with its new set up and design, and now filled with more learning resources, musical instruments, books and educational toys.
